Ilana Raviv is an accomplished Israeli-American artist who has exhibited her works in the United States, Europe and the Middle East in various galleries and museums. Her works are woven into rhymes and tied up in a geometry of poetic expression, which a handful of artists refer to as "Synthetic Realism". The "Magna Mater" exhibit is a vibrant reflection on women of mythology, history and literature. The paintings in this exhibition include Leda and the Swan, Cleopatra, Alice in Wonderland, The Pieta, Sheherazade, Eve and other sisters of Womanhood. Raviv draws from many different cultural traditions to highlight the inner strength that women throughout history and literature share.

"…Never before have Europa and Leda, Flora, Helen, Pandora, Shehrezade, Alice and Lady Godiva been portrayed this way: in a haze of colors and expressive forms that exhibit their relations with their spouses or the way they see themselves from within…"
Dr. Alec Mishory
Art Critic & Art Historian
Israel

"The art (paintings and drawings) of Ilana Raviv has the kind of perceptive rightness as its base as do a certain period of Jackson Polock, Hals and Miro…"
Knox Martin
New York Painter

"…The sublime essence of the "Magna Mater" is the source of feminine manifestations… The paintings of Ilana Raviv are true, tempestuous outbursts of creative force, generating powerful images which express the creative unrest surrounding the lyrical, intimate and the effervescent temperament of Ilana Raviv's artistry - a genuine song of praise to intuitive art..."
